Professor Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at the University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized for being the pioneer of research into witnesses from children as well as memories of eyewitnesses in the legal setting. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer who has received numerous awards and grants. She has advised numerous government bodies and administrations across the globe on policies and studies pertaining to the way children are treated by the justice system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly it was the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is also a founder participant of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the president of American Psychological Association's three divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family the Practice and Policy.
