Anika Noni has a career as an American performer and singer. She's best known for portraying Tiana Disney's her first African American Princess In The Princess and the Frog. Anika Noni (born September 6th 7th, 1972) is a songwriter as well as an American actor. The most famous of her roles was her role as Tiana Ariel, the princess of Disney who is the first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). She is also known for her starring role as Lorrell Robinson on the Academy Award-winning Film Dreamgirls (2006) as well as for her role as the character of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on The Starz show Power. Her performance in the theater are also well-known, particularly her performances as Emmie Thbodeaux and as the character in the Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Featured actress in the musical. The show also received her nomination in an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actor in the play Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun.
